NASA AND THE ICE CRYSTALS

We see a live NASA TV broadcast of spaceshuttle mission STS-74 in November 1995 showing us a close up of the MIR Russian space station. The MIR is in orbit 350 km above the Earth's surface and filmed by a  low light camera installed in the payload bay of the spaceshuttle Atlantis. It appears to maintain its position but that is an optical illusion because in reality it is travelling at an average speed of 27,700 km per hour.
